Located to the east of Shoreline, the 122 residential units - a mixture of flats, duplexes and garden studios - are split into two wings that open up towards the sea around semi-circular courtyards and frame the Marine Crescent with a communal garden in the middle.
The design focuses on the essential elements of seaside living: sheltered outdoor space, views, privacy and community. Slabs push out on the south elevations to create terraces and shading and come in on the north façade to react to the existing streetscape.
Rugged precast concrete edges and large glazed terracota panels give a mixture of textures and reflections as the sun moves across the building.
