Rooted in a history of pleasure piers and bathing machines, The Pier Rooms are a hybrid, part pier, part beach hut.
Rather than lining up beach huts parallel to the shore and on the back of the beach, we positioned them up behind each other on a chevron so that everyone has a similar view and pushed them out to sea.
The result is a sort of low-key hotel where one can commune with the elements, whatever the weather and the mood, flying above the waves but solidly tethered to the rock below.
